No hacked up wiring job on this DVD ROM. Just plug in your original yellow XBOX cable and gray XBOX IDE cable just like all XBOX factory drives. You do not need any additional cords. The modded drives that use the "Y" cord are bad for your console. The cord from the power supply was only intended to power the HDD. This DVD drive uses power from the motherboard through the original yellow DVD cable. It is the ideal hookup for the drive, rather than using a Y power cable. This keeps the power scheme the original way  Xbox was designed for, rather than running unnecessary cables from the hard drive and sharing power from the hard drive.

 It comes with the original Samsung face plate. We will e-mail you full color and detailed instructions. They will show you how to install the drive into your XBOX and how to put you face plate on this drive. The whole deal takes about 10 minutes to complete.
