Product Description

The fan module consists of five 40-millimeter (mm), multi-speed fans. It provides the primary airflow for the server. This side faces toward the motherboard.

Note: In order to maintain the necessary airflow within the server, the air baffle must be installed between the power supply and the fan module.

Each fan within the module is capable of supporting multiple speeds. If the internal ambient temperature of the server exceeds the value programmed into the thermal sensor data record (SDR), the Baseboard Management Comtroller (BMC) firmware increases the rotational speed for all of the fans within the module.

The individual fans are not swappable or individually replaceable. The tab on the side of the fan makes replacement of the fan module tool-less and simple. Instructions are located on the chassis cover.
